After 17 Years, She Walked Out Smiling. Just days after announcing her departure from BBC Breakfast, Naga Munchetty was spotted leaving the studios looking happier than ever—and the timing has everyone talking. Her next move is already confirmed, but it comes after months of speculation, workplace scrutiny, and one of the biggest shake-ups the show has seen in years. Now, fresh details are shedding light on why this career change may have been about far more than simply taking a new job.

NAGA Munchetty couldn’t have looked happier as she was spotted just days after her exit from BBC Breakfast was revealed.

The presenter, who is swapping her gig on the show for a new job at Radio 5 Live, was snapped leaving the TV studio on Thursday morning.

Flashing a huge smile to the cameras, a monochrome-dressed Naga appeared in high spirits after fronting the show with co-host Charlie Stayt.

They will be continuing to host the show until the end of the year.

The presenter began fronting the show in 2009 but is now moving to BBC Radio 5 Live to co-host the station’s Breakfast show from January.

She will take the reins from the current 5 Live Breakfast hosts, Rachel Burden and Rick Edwards, who are stepping down in December.

Naga’s salary for this last financial year for her work on BBC Breakfast was a whopping £360,000 – £364,999, which was confirmed when BBC salaries were revealed earlier this month.

But the move comes after a BBC investigation into her conduct, including allegations of bullying, crude sexual remarks and claims she reprimanded an intern for incorrectly spreading Marmite on her toast.

The probe was quietly closed, with Naga remaining in the BBC’s realm with her new gig.

Following the news of her move, an insider told The Sun that it was a ‘personal decision’ by Naga – following the conduct turmoil.

A source said: “It’s been a torrid year for Naga so when the job came up on 5Live it was an easy, personal decision to make the move.

“Even away from the probe, she faces endless scrutiny from viewers over every comment or gesture and that made the 5Live role all the more attractive.”

It has not been confirmed who will replace Naga on BBC Breakfast yet, but insiders say bosses now see glamorous Sally Nugent as the future of the flagship show alongside Charlie, who is staying put.
