Kerry Katona’s Unexpected Good Morning Britain Move Is Already Turning Heads As The Former Atomic Kitten Star Lands A Brand-New ITV Role That Could Lead To Something Even Bigger—And Viewers Are Divided Over What It Means For The Future Of The Breakfast Show

KERRY Katona has bagged herself a surprising new role on ITV’s flagship breakfast show Good Morning Britain.

The popular star has been handed a two-day slot on the programme as part of a trial run for a brand new segment.

The Sun can exclusively reveal that Kerry will be appearing on Wednesday and Thursday this week as part of a panel segment featuring debates on pop culture and light-hearted news.

It is part of a test run by GMB to offer up more entertainment-focused segments as well as having more “relatable voices” – something ITV think Kerry has.

An insider told The Sun: “Good Morning Britain is trialling a new segment called Talking Points, an entertainment-style panel that discusses lighter news and pop culture instead of heavy politics.

“It’s being tested over the next few weeks and Kerry will be part of a regular rotating panel.

“Kerry has appeared on the show several times over the past few months and has really connected with viewers, so they’ve invited her back for several more appearances.

“The producers want more grounded, relatable voices, and feel that Kerry resonates strongly with their audience.

“It’s part of a broader shift to make the show feel a bit more entertainment-driven, especially with extra airtime to fill.”

Kerry has featured on Good Morning Britain many times before as a guest and in various different debate segments.

There is hope if the trial run of Talking Points is successful then Kerry could be signed on to continue making regular appearances going forward.

Kerry last appeared on the programme just last month alongside her daughter Heidi discussing the rising trend in influencer-style videos.
