Carson Daly Addresses His Future on The Voice After Keke Palmer Is Named Host of Celebrity Spin-Off

Carson Daly has cleared up speculation about his future on The Voice after fans questioned whether Keke Palmer’s new hosting role on The Voice: Celebrity meant his long-running tenure with the franchise was coming to an end.
The answer, according to Daly, is simple: he is staying.
The 53-year-old confirmed that he will continue hosting the original The Voice, while Palmer takes charge of the upcoming celebrity edition. Daly will also remain closely involved with the spin-off as a producer, helping launch the new format from behind the scenes.
Carson Daly Says He Is Not Leaving The Voice

After receiving numerous questions about his absence from the celebrity version, Daly addressed the situation in an Instagram post on August 5.
“Many today have asked if I’m leaving the show,” he wrote. “Nope.”
Daly explained that his decision not to present The Voice: Celebrity was not an indication that he was stepping away from the franchise. Instead, he believes Palmer is better suited to lead the new version.
The former Total Request Live host enthusiastically welcomed her to The Voice family.
“We have a NEW amazing HOST!” Daly wrote. “The triple threat queen @keke who is PERFECT for it! I’m so grateful she carved out the time in her busy career to help us out. We’re all big fans & welcome her to the family.”
Daly also described himself as “not the right host” for the celebrity spin-off.
Daly Will Continue Hosting the Original Series
While viewers will not see Daly presenting the new celebrity competition, his role on the regular edition remains unchanged.
“I am still hosting the show currently,” he confirmed.
Daly also emphasized just how closely connected he has been to The Voice throughout its history.
“In fact, I have hosted & produced every single second of the show since day 1, 30 seasons. 16 years,” he wrote.
His involvement with The Voice: Celebrity will therefore take place primarily away from the cameras.
“I’ll be producing Celeb Voice only & helping it launch from behind the scenes,” Daly explained.
He also thanked audiences for continuing to support the different versions of the franchise and teased the return of the original series with its familiar coaches.
“Meanwhile, thanks for watching any/all Voice shows & we can’t wait to see you NEXT MONTH with the ‘OG’ Voice coaches.”
Keke Palmer Takes Over Hosting Duties for the Celebrity Edition
Palmer’s appointment represents one of the biggest changes for the new spin-off, which is scheduled to premiere in spring 2027.
Rather than featuring unknown singers attempting to break into the music industry, The Voice: Celebrity will place famous contestants in the familiar competition format.
According to NBC’s official description, the special season will feature “a wide range of celebrities—actors, musicians, influencers, athletes, comedians, and reality television stars” competing for the distinction of becoming the first Voice celebrity champion.
The identities of those celebrity contestants have not yet been announced.
Joe Jonas Joins the Coaching Line-Up
The new format will also bring a change to the coaching panel.
Joe Jonas is joining The Voice: Celebrity alongside returning coaches Queen Latifah and Riley Green, who became part of the franchise for Season 30.
The celebrity contestants and Palmer’s arrival as host will not be the only changes, with the spin-off expected to introduce additional twists to the established Voice format.
For Daly, however, the expansion of the franchise does not mean saying goodbye to the show he has hosted and produced since the beginning.
After 30 seasons and 16 years with The Voice, he will remain in front of the cameras for the original competition while helping Palmer and the celebrity edition get started from behind the scenes.
The Voice: Celebrity is scheduled to premiere in spring 2027.
