Lee Mack Left STUNNED As The 1% Club Witnesses A First In Three Years – And His Reaction Says It All!
The 1% Club delivered an unexpected moment during Saturday night’s episode, leaving host Lee Mack genuinely lost for words after a contestant’s brother accidentally created a moment the ITV quiz show had never seen before.
After three years on air, the popular quiz programme had finally encountered something completely new – and it was all thanks to one unsuspecting audience member.

A Simple Question Sends One Contestant Packing
The ITV favourite returned on Saturday, November 8, with Lee Mack back at the helm as 100 contestants took on a series of increasingly challenging logic puzzles.
The rules are straightforward but unforgiving. Players begin with a question that 90% of the British public answered correctly during the show’s research phase. From there, the difficulty increases until they face the ultimate challenge – a question only 1% of people managed to solve.
But contestant Cormac’s journey came to an abrupt end almost immediately.
His opening challenge featured an image of an infant alongside a set of stairs. The task was to identify the familiar phrase represented by the pictures: “Baby steps.”
Unfortunately, Cormac got it wrong.
“I put baby stairs, I panicked!” he admitted, explaining that he had recently finished university.
Lee then asked whether anyone had accompanied him to the studio. Cormac revealed that his brother was sitting in the audience – setting up an unexpected moment that nobody, least of all the presenter, saw coming.

Lee Mack Couldn’t Believe What Happened Next
When the cameras turned towards Cormac’s brother, Cillian, the audience was treated to an unusually hilarious sight.
Rather than paying attention to the action on stage, Cillian was looking at his phone’s camera and casually fixing his hair.
The moment he realised he was being filmed, he suddenly looked up and exclaimed: “Oh wait hold on.”
Lee was visibly astonished.
“You have got to be kidding me!” the presenter exclaimed as the studio audience erupted into laughter.
But the best part was still to come.
Recognising that the show had just captured something entirely unexpected, Lee continued: “That’s incredible we’ve never had that on the show before!”
He then jokingly called out the audience member’s behaviour, adding: “Wait a minute if it’s my close up! Do you always preen yourself like that?”
Cillian’s response? A straightforward: “Yeah.”
His unapologetic answer only added to the comedy of the moment, while Lee was left marvelling at a television first for the programme.

Last Week’s Episode Delivered A Very Different Shock
The latest instalment followed another memorable episode in which none of the three remaining finalists managed to answer the ultimate question correctly.
They were presented with a challenge about spotting mistakes in a set of terms and conditions:
“You should always read the small print very carefully. How many errors are there in the TandCs below?”
Despite making it all the way to the final stage, the three contestants each gave a different answer – and every single one was wrong.

With nobody managing to claim the top prize, the money remained untouched.
Offering his congratulations while delivering the disappointing news, Lee told the finalists: “Commiserations, you didn’t make it into the 1% club, but congratulations on getting this far.”
The 1% Club airs every Saturday at 8pm on ITV1.
