Ohio singer Brendan Coulter may have left The Voice earlier than he hoped, but his latest video has given fans another reason to root for him. The 27-year-old singer shared a full-circle moment involving Adam Levine after Riley Green chose Keiyana Osmond over him in a Battle Round performance of Maroon 5’s She Will Be Loved, sparking widespread complaints from viewers who believed Brendan deserved to win.
The emotional video took fans back to where his musical journey began, long before he ever imagined standing on the national television stage.

Sixteen years ago, Brendan sang She Will Be Loved at a local venue in Sylvania, Ohio. At just 12 years old, he could only dream of where his love for music might take him. Now, at 28, he has performed the same song on The Voice in front of the man who wrote it.
“It all starts with a dream,” Brendan wrote alongside the video, sharing how much the experience meant to him.

The singer also sent a heartfelt message to Levine and Maroon 5, thanking them for inspiring him with the song both as a young boy and as an adult. Although his journey on the NBC competition ended sooner than expected, Brendan made it clear that he is not giving up on music.
“While my voice journey ended earlier than I had hoped, please give me a follow and stay tuned,” he added, promising that more music is coming soon.
The post quickly drew supportive comments from fans, with many celebrating his talent and encouraging him to keep chasing his dreams. Others were still struggling to accept his elimination, with some hoping he might get another opportunity to return to the competition.
Brendan’s emotional connection to the song was already clear during his Battle Round performance. When Green paired him with Keiyana Osmond, the coach revealed that She Will Be Loved was the first song Brendan had ever sung. During rehearsals, Green praised Brendan’s falsetto, while Battle advisor Carly Pearce complimented Osmond’s tone and unique style.
The two singers delivered a performance that caught the coaches’ attention, even prompting Green to jokingly tell Levine, “Take that, Adam!”

Levine, who wrote the Maroon 5 hit, was delighted to hear the song performed on the show. He admitted that it still amazed him to see how much the track had meant to people over the years. The Maroon 5 frontman also praised both singers, noting that the song was difficult and required everything they had.
However, the final decision belonged to Green. Despite praising Brendan for delivering an impressive performance, the country star selected Osmond as the winner, pointing to her distinctive style as a major reason for his choice.
The decision left many viewers disappointed, and the online reaction showed little sign of fading. Under the performance video, fans repeatedly argued that Brendan had the stronger vocal performance.
“Brendon won that imo. She had an interesting voice but he was definitely a better, stronger singer,” one viewer wrote.
Another declared, “How on earth did they let that guy go. His voice is stellar.”
Others were even more direct, with one fan insisting, “I do not agree with the result. Brendan owned this song and has the stronger voice between the two of them.”
Calls for the singer to return also appeared throughout the comments. “Bring him Back… he is super!!” one viewer pleaded, while another predicted that Brendan would eventually become a star.
The support continued on Brendan’s new post, where fans praised the full-circle video and encouraged him to keep releasing music. One commenter celebrated the moment as a legendary clip, while another wrote, “Love everything about this Benny! So proud of you!! Keep on following your dreams! You are amazing!”

For Brendan, the experience may not have ended with a spot in the next round, but performing the song that started his musical journey in front of its original creator was a moment he will not soon forget.
And with fans continuing to rally behind him, his time on The Voice may have ended, but his musical story is far from over.
