Georgie fans rejoice! Alisha Newton to make guest appearance in Heartland Season 19. The actor will briefly reprise her role as adopted daughter

We have some amazing news for Heartland fans: one of your favourite cast members will return for a guest appearance this season.

If you follow Alisha Newton’s Instagram account, you may have seen an intriguing post where she hints that she spent some time on the set of Heartland Season 19. Fans were champing at the bit to find out more.

Newton, who played the plucky and rebellious character Georgina “Georgie” Fleming-Morris, will reprise her role as a guest performer on the show.

Long-time Heartland fans will remember when a scrappy young girl, failed by the foster care system, showed up at the beginning of Season 6. That, of course, was Georgie  who quickly became a beloved character on the series. She was daring, adventurous and a little mischievous.

By the end of Season 6, she won the hearts of the Bartlett/Fleming family and was fostered more permanently by Lou Fleming (Michelle Morgan) and Peter Morris (Gabriel Hogan). Georgie was officially adopted early in Season 7 and became a regular on the show.

While Newton hasn’t appeared on the series since 2023, when you’re in town, you’ve got to visit family. Heartland showrunner Mark Haroun recently commented, “Last season while we were filming in High River, Alisha Newton was also shooting My Life With The Walter Boys. Audiences have watched Georgie grow up on the show, and it is always wonderful to have her back at the Heartland dinner table.”

Guest performers and cameos on Heartland

In addition to the return of Georgie to the show, we have also seen other fan favourite guest appearances like Ashley Stanton (Cindy Busby), Mallory Wells (Jessica Amlee) and Shane (Sam Duke), to name a few.

Newton is not the only surprise cameo for Season 19. Haroun also teased a second surprise return: “For audiences that have been watching the show from the beginning, you’ll see the return of a character we haven’t seen in a very long time, but I can’t give this one away without some major spoilers, so you’ll have to tune in to find out!”
