Joy Behar’s Absence From The View Extended Again After Backstage Fall as Her Return Remains Uncertain

Joy Behar remains absent from The View after suffering a painful shoulder injury backstage, with the longtime co-host missing another episode despite previously suggesting she would return this week.
The 84-year-old television personality was noticeably missing from the October 19 broadcast, extending an absence that began after her last appearance on September 30.
Although Behar has reassured viewers that she is recovering, her return has now been delayed twice, raising further questions about when she will be well enough to rejoin the panel.
Joy Behar Misses Another Episode Despite Expected Return
Viewers hoping to see Behar back at the table on Monday were disappointed when the show began without her.

Moderator Whoopi Goldberg did not immediately address her colleague’s continued absence, instead moving directly into the day’s Hot Topics discussion.
The lack of an update came nearly a week after Goldberg shared a message from Behar indicating that she expected to return.
On October 13, Goldberg read a statement in which Behar thanked viewers for their concern and offered a characteristically humorous explanation for her slower recovery.
“If I was still 21, I’d have bounced back the next day,” Behar wrote.
“But, since I’m an old bat, recuperating takes a bit longer.”
She added that she planned to return the following week and share the details of her accident.
However, Behar was still absent when Monday’s episode aired.
How Joy Behar Injured Her Shoulder Backstage

Behar’s injury was first publicly explained during the October 2 episode of The View.
Co-host Sunny Hostin told the audience that Behar had dislocated her shoulder.
“Unfortunately, our dear friend Joy dislocated her shoulder,” Hostin announced.
The news prompted an audible reaction from the studio audience.
Hostin reassured viewers that Behar was recovering and expected to return soon.
A representative for Behar subsequently provided additional details, explaining that the television personality had caught her heel backstage and fallen.
The representative confirmed that Behar’s shoulder had not been broken and had been put back into place.
At the time, the expectation was that she would return by the middle of the following week.
That initial timetable passed without Behar appearing on the program.
Behar Misses Her Own 84th Birthday Celebration

The injury also prevented Behar from attending an important personal milestone.
On October 7, The View marked her 84th birthday, but the longtime panelist was unable to participate in the celebration.
Goldberg acknowledged her absence at the beginning of the broadcast and wished her a happy birthday.
She also shared another humorous message from Behar, who joked about sharing her birthday with Vladimir Putin while explaining that she was still recovering from her shoulder injury.
Behar also missed a scheduled live podcast recording that week.
Her continued absence has meant that several episodes of the show’s milestone 30th season have gone ahead without one of its most familiar personalities.
The View Continues Without Its Longest-Serving Panelist
Behar has been associated with The View since the daytime talk show’s premiere in 1997.
Her outspoken commentary and quick humor have made her a central figure throughout much of the program’s history.
The show began its 30th season on September 8 following its traditional summer break.
Alongside Behar, the current panel includes Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro.
While her colleagues have kept viewers informed about her recovery, no revised return date was announced during the October 19 broadcast.
Behar’s previous statements indicate that she is eager to resume her duties, but the extended absence suggests she needs additional time to recover.
For now, viewers will have to wait for another update before knowing when the veteran co-host will return to her familiar seat at The View table.
