On Friday, August 7, Koe Wetzel and Ella Langley dropped their new duet “Jaded.”
Their song comes shortly after Wetzel released his latest album, The Night Champion, on June 12. Fans received 11 brand new tracks from the singer, including:
- Sinner
- Circus
- Hurts Like You
- When I’m Gone
- Time Goes On
- Dollar and a Bottle
- The Man
- Nowhere Fast
- I’ll Lock Up
- Surrounded
- When I Was
Just a couple of weeks later, Wetzel announced he had even more new music on the way. He shared that he would be releasing a five-song deluxe edition of the project. The additional songs were:
- Magnet
- Bad Decisions
- Ronnie Ray
- Rolling & Smoking
- Meet You There.
But that wasn’t all. In the post where Wetzel announced the extra songs, fans noticed there were two more tracks he hadn’t revealed yet, and they were going to be duets.
The titles and featured artists were completely covered up, though, so fans were going wild trying to guess who they were.
Now, the wait is finally over. Wetzel took to Instagram to surprise fans with a preview of one of the mystery duets.
The song is called “Jaded,” and features country superstar Ella Langley.
Fans know this isn’t the first time they’ve teamed up together. In 2023, Wetzel and Langley released “That’s Why We Fight,” which ended up being a massive hit. The song went on to earn a Gold certification from the RIAA.

In a press release, Wetzel shared how much he enjoyed getting the chance to work with Ella again. His statement read:
“Ella’s been one of my favorite people to write and sing with for a long time. We recorded ‘That’s Why We Fight’ early on in both of our careers, and getting back in a room together was something we talked about every time we saw each other. When she sings, you believe it and I’m excited we could get this one out there to the fans.”
Ella feels the same way. She’s grateful to be able to collaborate again years after their first smash hit.
“Koe and I have known each other and been friends for a long time,” she said. “He was one of the first artists I ever got to collaborate with and one of the first I went out on the road with back in 2022. Getting to write and record another song together is special.”

Koe and Ella’s new song is a heartbreak track, with a country-rock disco sound. The story is about two partners who are still dealing with trauma from past relationships, which ultimately affects their relationship with each other.
The chorus of the song goes:
“How’d you get so jaded? / Who made you like this? / Who gave you these problems even I can’t seem to fix? / How’d you get so lonely? / How’d you get so cold? / I don’t wanna hurt you, baby, I just wanna know / How’d you get so jaded? Ooh / How’d you get so jaded? Ooh”
