One little boy reminded everyone that the love for classic country music is still alive and well.

A few days ago, a young country fan named Owen shared a video on TikTok of himself singing John Anderson’s “Swingin’.”

Anderson co-wrote and recorded the song in 1982, releasing it as the second single from his album Wild & Blue. The track became a major hit for him, reaching No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart. It also helped Anderson earn the Single of the Year award at the CMA’s that year.

Over the years, “Swingin’” has been covered by several country singers, including LeAnn Rimes and Chris Young. And now, Owen gave it a try, and the response online has been incredible.

In just two days, the video has taken off. It has already gained more than 2.1 million views.

The clip shows the young Virginia native standing behind a barricade with a microphone in his hand. He confidently sings every word to the iconic song.

What made the moment even more special was the fact that Owen had guitarist Colt Prather playing along with him.

Prather was obviously impressed because he had a smile on his face the entire time Owen was belting out the lyrics without missing a beat.

He wasn’t the only one amazed, though. The video’s comment section filled up with thousands of people praising Owen for knowing every word to a classic country song.

Many pointed out how rare it is these days to see someone his age appreciate older songs in the genre. A few of those kind messages include:

“John Anderson is HARD to sing, hats off kiddo! 👏👏👏”

“Props to his mama and daddy making sure he knows good music 🎵 ❤️”

“There is hope for this generation.”

“This is NOT an easy song to sing with that John Anderson style/tone and this Lil feller absolutely NAILED IT!!!!!! Incredible!!! Keep grindin bro!!!!!!!”

“I’m just surprised that young man knows a John Anderson song. Much less killed it. Congrats young man. Haven’t heard that song in a long time.”

If you check out Owen’s TikTok page, you’ll notice that performing in front of a crowd isn’t anything new for him. He’s already been playing at small hometown events and local shows, and it looks like he’s building a pretty solid fanbase.

At this rate, don’t be surprised if Owen becomes a big name in country music one day!
