NEARLY 5 MILLION SWITCHED CHANNELS — AND A HALFTIME CULTURE CLASH WAS BORN. As Bad Bunny lit up the Super Bowl stage, another crowd was quietly tuning elsewhere. Turning Point USA’s rival halftime show pulled in close to five million viewers, offering a stark alternative headlined by Kid Rock and framed as the “anti–Bad Bunny” broadcast. Marketed as music “for folks who love America,” the stream leaned hard into country anthems, patriotic imagery, and emotional tributes to founder Charlie Kirk — complete with electric-guitar Star-Spangled Banner moments and biblical imagery. It even ran longer than the official halftime show. One stadium. Two stages. Millions choosing sides. What unfolded wasn’t just counter-programming — it was a mirror of a country split down the middle, proving that even halftime has become a statement.

Nearly 5 MILLION tune in to Turning Point USA’s Super Bowl rival halftime show as fans switch off Bad Bunny

NEARLY 5 million fans tuned into Turning Point USA’s controversial halftime show while Bad Bunny took the stage at the Super Bowl.

Kid Rock headlined the alternative show while Bad Bunny performed alongside Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin at the Super Bowl.

Turning Point announced the show shortly after Bad Bunny was announced as a headliner.

The nonprofit, which was founded by conservative activist Charlie Kirk, framed the halftime show as the antithesis to Bad Bunny’s show, which was sung entirely in Spanish and paid homage to his Puerto Rican roots.

“We plan to play great songs for folks who love America,” Kid Rock said in a statement before the performance.

“We’re approaching this show like David and Goliath. Competing with the pro football machine and a global pop superstar is almost impossible … or is it?”

The performance featured country musicians Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett, who each played two or three songs.

The show also included several tributes to Kirk, who was killed in September during at debate at a college in Utah.

TPUSA’s performance kicked off with a tribute to Kirk followed by a rendition of the Star Spangled Banner on the electric guitar.

Kid Rock also wrapped up his set with a video honoring Kirk, featuring photos of his wife, Erika, and their kids.

The video ended with the Bible quote “Here I am. Send me.”

The show began shortly after 8 pm ET, and ran for longer than Bad Bunny’s set.

The musician gave a lively performance at Levi Stadium on Sunday filled with references to Puerto Rico and guest appearances from Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga.

Bad Bunny closed out his set with the title track off of his Grammy-award winning album Debí Tirar Más Fotos.

He yelled “God Bless America!” while surrounded by flags from around the world.
