Prince Harry appears to have a spring in his step: after a prolonged six-year temper tantrum, his saintly father agreed to see him and his ghastly wife and even more nobly, the Queen was there, too. Just in case you’d forgotten, Harry heaped one insult after another on Camilla in his memoir – branding her a villain and dangerous. Meanwhile, Meghan has made claims about her cold treatment from the rest of the Windsors, while openly mocking the late Queen with that dreadful fake curtsey she gave in her interview with Oprah Winfrey. Nor has there been any love lost between her and the Princess of Wales.

Some are saying Charles is weak in having anything to do with them but the reality is quite the opposite. It takes true strength of character to rise above it and show Christian forgiveness as the sovereign is somehow managing to do: just as long as he doesn’t expect his elder son and the rest of the country, who have had it up to here with those two, to follow suit, it will all be fine.

Would that a few other warring families could follow his example. The Beckhams look no closer to reconciling with their eldest son than ever and although I remain big fans of the two of them, they really should back off.

There has been another flurry of posts with pictures of Brooklyn: he has specifically asked them not to do this and they should respect that. Meanwhile, more of the offspring of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has publicly dropped the former’s surname and you can’t help but suspect that mummy had something to do with that.

If Brooklyn and Nicola are blessed with progeny, at some point they are going to realise who their grandparents are. Are they not going to wish to see them? As for the Jolie clan, it is very hard to escape the conclusion that they have been brainwashed with bitterness and poison. How is that going to affect the rest of their lives?

It is said that more people than ever are estranged from their families. They should think again. We live in exceedingly troubled times and it is true that blood is thicker than water. But not thicker than Harry. Sorry, couldn’t resist that.
