Maccisha makes The 1% Club history after solving its “impossible” final question

Maccisha has made The 1% Club history by becoming the first contestant ever to win the full £100,000 prize — after cracking a fiendishly difficult final question in just 30 seconds.
The school teacher was one of just three contestants left standing when host Lee Mack presented them with a sequence that appeared to make absolutely no mathematical sense.
The question was:
“What is the lowest number that replaces the question mark in this sequence?”
The contestants were shown:
1+2 = one
2+2 = four
3+2 = three
3+3 = eleven
4+3 = ??
At first glance, there seemed to be no logical connection between the calculations and their answers. But the key was hidden in the way the numbers were written out as words.
The clue was in the words

The first number in each equation represents the number of consonants in the written answer, while the second represents the number of vowels.
So “one” has one consonant and two vowels, making it the lowest number that fits 1+2.
“Four” contains two consonants and two vowels, matching 2+2.
“Three” has three consonants and two vowels, while “eleven” contains three consonants and three vowels.
That left the final challenge: finding the lowest number whose name contains four consonants and three vowels.
Maccisha worked out that the answer was 15 — “fifteen”, which contains four consonants and three vowels.
A historic £100,000 moment

Her correct answer secured the full £100,000, making her the first person in the show’s history to take home the entire top prize. The episode aired on 10 January 2026 as the opening episode of series five.
The moment left Maccisha visibly stunned as the studio celebrated her win.
The achievement also drew plenty of praise from viewers online, with fans congratulating the school teacher for solving such a complicated logic puzzle under intense time pressure.
Maccisha later revealed that the win was a “massive surprise” and that it took around a week for the reality of what had happened to sink in.
For a show built around increasingly difficult logic questions, it was an especially significant moment: after years of contestants coming close to the top prize, Maccisha finally became the first player to solve the final challenge and walk away with the full £100,000.
