White Lotus fans won’t want to miss out on this “once-in-a-lifetime” drama led by two Oscar Award winners.
Interstellar legend Matthew McConaughey and Emilia Perez star Zoe Saldana are joining forces for the first time in a “stunning” Italian-set thriller on Netflix.
Positano sees two rival thieves caught up in a “game of cat and mouse” as McConaughey takes on the role of a “charming jewel thief”.
Netflix teases that he gives up his good life to help a mysterious woman, portrayed by Saldana, “as they plot a high-stakes score that’s worth a lot more than just money”.

But what makes this gripping thriller stand out even more is that it’s set against the stunning coastal backdrop of the Positano cliffside village on the Amalfi Coast.
McConaughey and Saldana are far from the only stars set to bring the upcoming Netflix film to life either.
They are joined by Wayward and The Staircase actress Toni Collette as well as a number of Italian actors including Karren Karagulian, Salvatore Esposito and Lorenzo de Moor.
As of yet though, there has been no talk of an official release date for the Italian-set thriller although cameras did begin rolling in May.
Production is expected to be wrapped up in the coming weeks but Positano isn’t expected to come out until mid-to-late 2027.
Filming has taken place across a number of Italian destinations including Salerno, the wider Amalfi Coast, as well as Rome and across the beautiful Lake Iseo.
Working behind the scenes is Academy Award-winning director Daniel Roher who is recognised for his 2023 documentary Navalny.
Positano is a collaboration between Netflix and production company Working Title with the partnership also behind The Swimmers, Matilda the Musical and last year’s Kate Winslet Christmas film Goodbye June.
