She Couldn’t Hold Back the Tears… And Fans Instantly Knew This Goodbye Was Different. After years of headlines, unforgettable twists, and award-winning performances, The Morning Show is officially coming to an end—and Reese Witherspoon’s emotional reaction says everything. According to multiple media reports, the actress broke down in tears after Apple TV confirmed the hit drama will conclude with its fifth and final season, leaving longtime fans just as emotional.

REESE Witherspoon couldn’t hold back the tears as she mourned the end of The Morning Show.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that the hit Apple TV drama about the cut-throat world of breakfast television is ending after five series.

Reese and Jennifer reacted to the news with emotional videos and photos on Instagram.

Friends star Jennifer shared a clip of her with a sobbing Reese on set while hugging their co-star Mark Duplass, who plays their highly stressed executive producer, Charlie “Chip” Black.

She also posted a photo of her and Reese, who both received Golden Globe nominations for playing TV anchors Alex Levy and Bradley Jackson, laughing on set in between filming.

“Laughing and crying,” the 57-year-old aptly captioned the post.

She added: “Final season of The Morning Show incoming. MUCH more to come [heart emoji].”

Reese, 50, shared her own tribute on social media, posting a montage of happy and emotional moments between the cast and crew set to the show’s theme music.

“You’re only as good as the people you work with and, wow, how lucky am I to work with the best?!” she penned.

“Thank you to every cast and crew member who brought this story to life.”

The duo appears alongside Duplass, Billy Crudup, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman and Jon Hamm in the tense newsroom drama.

Jennifer revealed the cast and crew knew series five would be their last before they began filming.

“We’ve become such a family and we’re all so excited to share this final season,” she said in a statement.

“And going in knowing it would be our last, we were so fortunate to craft the conclusion with intentionality and honor these characters the way they deserve.”

Reese added: “This was always more than a show about a newsroom – it was a show about why the newsroom matters. About freedom of the press, and the journalists who protect the fourth estate, often at great cost. Telling that story has been the creative privilege of my career.”

The Morning Show, which debuted in 2019, will return for its final series in 2027.
