Lady Kitty Spencer Offers Rare Glimpse of Billionaire Husband and Daughter During Lavish Hamptons Escape
Lady Kitty Spencer has given followers a rare look inside her private family life, sharing intimate glimpses of her billionaire husband Michael Lewis and their three-year-old daughter Athena during a glamorous summer escape to The Hamptons.
The 35-year-old niece of Princess Diana took to Instagram with a carousel capturing what she called the “sweetest summertime” in the A-lister favourite destination.

Among the polished holiday snapshots, one video stood out.
Kitty filmed Michael, whom she married in 2021, playing in the sea with their young daughter Athena — an unusually candid glimpse of a family life the socialite has largely kept away from public view.
The couple’s 32-year age gap has often attracted attention, but it was the simple family moment that appeared to capture the most interest this time.
Elsewhere, Kitty posed in a glamorous floral maxi dress and pink heels while attending an intimate dinner hosted by fashion designers Carolina Herrera and Wes Gordon alongside Sarah Wetenhall, founder of the boutique Hedges Inn.
She also shared a glimpse of herself in a polka-dot bikini top and documented quieter family moments, including supermarket trips, footprints in the sand and Athena feeding animals on a farm.
A rare look at Athena’s childhood

Kitty has been notably private about her daughter since secretly welcoming Athena in 2023.
The couple did not announce her arrival until Mother’s Day the following year, when Kitty shared a photograph of herself holding her baby on the beach.
At the time, she wrote: “It’s the joy of my life to be your mummy, little one. I love you unconditionally.”
Her latest Hamptons photographs offer another rare glimpse of Athena, including a sweet image of the toddler picking flowers and footage of her feeding goats.
The family moments were mixed with snapshots from Kitty’s glamorous social calendar. She shared a photograph with dermatologist Dr Macrene Alexiades at an event for nail varnish brand Essie, as well as footage of American DJ Diplo performing in The Hamptons.
A relationship kept largely private

Kitty and Michael first met through mutual friends in 2018 and became engaged shortly before Christmas 2019, with their engagement publicly announced in January 2020.
They eventually married in 2021 at Villa Aldobrandini in Frascati, Italy, following a two-year delay caused by the pandemic.
Kitty has generally chosen to keep her husband out of the spotlight, rarely sharing photographs of him online and frequently attending red-carpet events alone.
Michael, a South African businessman, is chairman of the Foschini Group, the retail company behind British high-street brands including Whistles and Phase Eight. He is believed to have a fortune of around £80million and owns a £19million London property as well as a home in South Africa.
His family has longstanding ties to the retail industry. His grandfather founded a furniture business in the 1930s, while his father, Stanley Lewis, acquired a stake in the Foschini Group during the 1980s.
Michael subsequently joined the company’s board and became chairman in 2015.
He was previously married in 1985 and has three children from that marriage.
Kitty’s royal family connections

Although Kitty has forged her own career in fashion, she remains closely connected to Britain’s royal family through her Spencer heritage.
She is a first cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry, making Athena second cousin to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Kitty was raised in South Africa with her siblings after her parents, Charles Spencer, the 9th Earl Spencer, and Victoria Lockwood, divorced.
Her 2021 wedding was notable for the absence of her father and her royal cousins. Instead, she was walked down the aisle by her brother Louis Spencer, Viscount Althorp, and her half-brother Samuel Aitken.
Earl Spencer was also absent from Lady Amelia Spencer’s 2023 wedding to Greg Mallett in Stellenbosch, South Africa.
At the time, reports suggested the absences reflected changing family dynamics, while a source claimed Kitty and her father had grown more distant since his marriage to his third wife, Karen, in 2011.

Five spectacular wedding dresses
Kitty’s fashion career has made her a familiar face on international red carpets and at Fashion Weeks around the world.
As a global ambassador for Dolce & Gabbana, she turned to the Italian fashion house for her wedding wardrobe, wearing five haute couture looks throughout the three-day celebrations.
Her main bridal gown featured a Victorian-inspired design with an ivory lace finish, high neckline, bustier-style bodice and dramatic puffed sleeves.
The evening before the wedding, she wore a blue tulle gown with a corseted bodice, full skirt and floor-length floral-embroidered cape.

Following the ceremony, she changed into a silk ballgown hand-painted with intricate blooms before later appearing in a sparkling beaded cocktail dress.
For the final day of celebrations, Kitty chose an emerald silk gown decorated with sequins, ribbons and floral embroidery.
The wedding was attended by close friends including singer Pixie Lott and the Marchioness of Bath.
Yet years after that lavish Italian celebration, Kitty appears increasingly comfortable revealing a much quieter side of her life.
And amid the glamour of The Hamptons, it was perhaps the simplest images — Michael in the sea with Athena, tiny footprints in the sand and a child feeding farm animals — that offered the most revealing glimpse yet of the family she usually keeps behind closed doors.
