She May Have Already Given Herself Away… A Body Language Expert Says She’s Spotted The STRONGEST LIAR On This Season Of The Traitors — And One Tiny Movement Apparently Gave Her The Biggest Clue

Body Language Expert Names the ‘Strongest Liar’ on This Season of The Traitors

When deception is the entire point of the game, knowing how to lie without giving yourself away can be a major advantage. Ahead of the premiere of The Traitors: New Blood, a body language expert has already singled out one contestant she believes could be especially skilled at keeping secrets.

The new season brings a major change to the U.S. version of the competition series. Rather than filling the castle with celebrities and reality TV personalities, The Traitors: New Blood features an entirely civilian cast. That means viewers begin the season knowing very little about the people competing, making their behavior and body language all the more intriguing.

According to body language expert Inbaal Honigman of Casino.ca, one contestant in particular may have the natural instincts needed to become a convincing liar.

Why The Traitors cast 'lost their heads' in unaired scenes

Why Tomica Adams Could Be a Natural Liar

Honigman points to Tomica Adams, a pilot from Boston, as the contestant she considers the season’s potential “strongest liar.”

Her assessment is based on the way Adams controls her speech and appears comfortable withholding information. Honigman observed that, while on the train, Adams kept her tongue against the roof of her mouth for an unusually long period.

To Honigman, that physical habit suggested that Adams is comfortable keeping quiet and waiting until the right moment to speak. She interpreted it as a sign that Adams could be particularly effective at choosing her words carefully and keeping a secret.

That could prove useful in a competition where players must constantly decide what to reveal, what to conceal and when to speak up.

Adams also appeared confident while speaking directly to the camera. Honigman noted that she laughed and nodded naturally as she talked, without showing obvious signs of nervousness or concern.

In Honigman’s view, that relaxed demeanor suggests Adams is approaching the competition with confidence and believes she has a genuine opportunity to succeed.

Shane Beatty Could Also Be Difficult to Read

Honigman identified Shane Beatty, an ironworker from Staten Island, as another contestant who could make deception difficult to spot.

Beatty’s potential advantage, she explained, comes from his consistency. Whether he is sitting or walking, Honigman observed that his facial expressions and physical movements remain largely unchanged.

His posture also appears broad and confident, while his facial expression tends to stay calm and neutral.

That consistency could make Beatty an especially reassuring presence around the other contestants. Honigman believes people may be inclined to trust him because his demeanor does not noticeably shift from one situation to another.

A New Cast Changes the Game

The body language analysis comes at an interesting point for The Traitors. New Blood is built around 22 everyday Americans, rather than the familiar celebrity and reality-TV personalities who have populated previous U.S. seasons. The cast includes people from a wide range of professions, including pilots, ironworkers, lawyers, nurses, therapists and an MLB analyst.

That civilian format means contestants enter the game without the established public personas that viewers may already associate with reality stars. For the audience, small gestures, expressions and interactions can therefore become part of the process of figuring out who might be telling the truth.

For Adams and Beatty, Honigman’s observations offer two very different potential advantages. Adams’ apparent comfort with controlling what she says could help her keep information hidden, while Beatty’s steady physical presence could make him difficult for other players to read.

Of course, body language alone cannot determine whether someone is telling the truth. In The Traitors, where suspicion can shift quickly, contestants ultimately have to rely on a mixture of social relationships, observations and strategy.

An individual dressed in a red cloak with a hood stands against a dark backdrop, illuminated by the soft glow of a nearby lantern.

When to Watch The Traitors: New Blood

The Traitors: New Blood premiered on NBC on Thursday, September 17, at 8:00 p.m. ET with a special two-hour launch. The first episodes are also available to stream on Peacock the following day.

The season continues to follow the franchise’s central game of deception, with contestants competing in the Scottish Highlands while trying to determine who among them can be trusted. The prize can reach $250,000.

With an unfamiliar cast and no established celebrity reputations to rely on, viewers will have to watch closely. If Honigman’s early assessment is any indication, Tomica Adams may already have the kind of composure that makes a convincing liar.
