The Voice fans are asking for Luke Curran to get another chance after Adam Levine chose Evan James in a difficult Team Adam Battle. The two singers performed Tucker Wetmore’s Wind Up Missin’ You, but the result left many viewers convinced that Luke deserved to advance.
Queen Latifah praised both contestants after their performance, saying, “Y’all felt locked in from the very beginning.” She admitted, “This is going to be a tricky one right here,” before highlighting what each singer brought to the stage. “Evan just ran all around the world real quick. Luke just gave it to that microphone,” she said.
Queen also made it clear that she saw potential in both artists, adding, “I feel extremely encouraged by both of you and your performances that you can keep going in this competition.”
Riley Green also liked the arrangement of the song. He noted that Evan felt “very comfortable from the beginning” with the song choice, while Luke “really made it [his] own.” Riley ultimately said he would probably pick Evan as the winner, giving Adam some help with his difficult decision.
Adam admitted that both singers had pitch issues during parts of the performance. He also revealed that he kept flip-flopping about whom to choose throughout the song. In the end, he picked Evan to move forward, bringing Luke’s journey on Team Adam to an end.
However, many viewers disagreed with the decision and took to social media to argue that Luke deserved the win.
“That was a mistake, letting Luke go. His voice has so much more to show, I believe. I hope he comes back,” one fan wrote.
Another viewer declared, “Luke won that battle,” while someone else shared, “I picked Luke from the beginning.”
Some fans were also surprised that none of the other coaches stepped in to save Luke. “Both were great! I thought someone would steal Luke!!” one viewer commented.
Others continued calling for his return. “Bring Luke back!” one fan pleaded, while another encouraged the singer, writing, “Luke Curran, you are amazing and I know this won’t be the last time we see and hear from you.”
Still, some viewers agreed with Adam’s choice. “For me, Evan was the right choice!” one fan said.
