Coronation Street favourite Beverley Callard has revealed that her nausea has become increasingly difficult to manage as she continues her cancer treatment, while she waits for results from a stomach biopsy taken five weeks ago.
The 69-year-old actress, best known for playing Liz McDonald in the ITV soap, shared the latest update with fans on Instagram on Thursday, October 22, explaining that her symptoms had become so severe that she was unable to go to work.
Beverley first announced in February that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then, she has kept followers informed about her health and the difficult side effects she has experienced during treatment.

Beverley Callard Says Worsening Nausea Forced Her to Miss Work
In a video posted to Instagram, Beverley explained that she had worked late the previous evening, getting to bed at around 1.30am. Although she had enjoyed the work, she clarified that it was not related to her role in the Irish soap Fair City.
However, the following day proved particularly challenging.
Describing how she felt, Beverley said her nausea had become so severe that, for the first time, she had been unable to go to work. She subsequently visited her GP to discuss her symptoms and the continued wait for her medical results.
The actress said her doctor was surprised that she had still not received the results of her stomach biopsy, despite five weeks having passed.
Beverley admitted that the prolonged wait was beginning to affect her emotionally.
“We’re still waiting and it’s just getting me down now,” she explained.
She described experiencing nausea and stomach pain that would sometimes subside before returning again, leaving her struggling to cope with the recurring discomfort.

Five-Week Wait for Biopsy Results Adds to Her Worries
Alongside the uncertainty surrounding her biopsy results, Beverley said she had heard from many people who told her that nausea can be a common side effect following radiotherapy.
Nevertheless, she feels that the symptoms have continued for a long time.
The actress also revealed that she had been given different tablets in an attempt to relieve her stomach pain.
Thursday had been an especially difficult day, and seeing the impact of her health struggles on her family made the experience even more upsetting.
Beverley explained that her 94-year-old mother-in-law, Christel, had become so worried about her that she broke down in tears while trying to look after her.
The actress said the moment left her feeling guilty, knowing how distressed her mother-in-law was about her condition.
Her update offered a candid account of the physical discomfort she has been experiencing and the emotional strain that comes with waiting for answers about her health.

Fans Send Messages of Support
Following Beverley’s post, fans took to the comments section to share messages of encouragement and express their concern.
One person wrote: “Saying special prayers for you Bev.”
Another offered their support, commenting: “Oh bless you, sending lots of love xx.”
A third expressed frustration over the delay in receiving her medical results, writing: “That’s outrageous to wait 5 weeks. Hope you get your results soon.”
Beverley has continued to speak openly about the more difficult aspects of her cancer treatment over recent months, allowing followers to understand the challenges she has faced along the way.
Her latest update comes as she continues to wait for her biopsy results while managing the nausea and stomach pain that have been affecting her daily life.

Beverley Callard’s New Role in Fair City
Away from her health battle, Beverley has also taken on a new acting role in Ireland.
It was announced in January that she would be joining Fair City, Ireland’s longest-running and most popular drama serial.
The actress plays Lily Patterson, the long-lost mother of Gwen Connolly, portrayed by Emily Lamey.
Her involvement in the Irish soap marks another chapter in a television career that has made her a familiar face to British audiences, particularly through her long-running portrayal of Liz McDonald in Coronation Street.
For now, Beverley remains focused on navigating her ongoing health difficulties as she awaits the medical results she has been hoping to receive.
