The 1% Club Viewers Stumped as All Eight Finalists Miss the Final Question
Eight contestants made it all the way to the final stage of The 1% Club, but none could solve the question standing between them and a share of the £97,000 prize fund.
The ITV game show saw the eight remaining players face the notoriously difficult 1% question after progressing through the competition alongside 92 other contestants.
Host Lee Mack presented the finalists with a picture puzzle and gave them just 30 seconds to submit their answers.

The final question
The image showed the number eight positioned inside an ice cube.
Mack asked: “What word is represented by this picture?”
As the clock ran down, the contestants locked in their answers. When the 30 seconds were over, Mack prepared to reveal whether anyone had managed to crack the puzzle.
The studio lights turned red, confirming that none of the eight contestants had answered correctly.
“I’m afraid you all got it wrong,” Mack told the disappointed group.
He then revealed the answer: Incubate, a wordplay combination of “in-cube-eight.”
The result left both the contestants and the audience disappointed, as nobody had managed to reach the 1% Club by answering the final question correctly.
There was, however, one small consolation for Jonathan. He received £1,000 for choosing not to use his pass card to skip any questions during the game.
Mack offered the group some words of encouragement, saying: “Commiserations. You didn’t make it into the 1% Club but you can at least walk away knowing you did better than everyone else tonight.”

Fans react to the unexpected result
Viewers were surprised to see all eight finalists miss the final question and took to social media to share their reactions.
One person wrote on X: “Not one person got it..!”
Another joked: “The wheels on the brain bus well & truly fell off.”
A third viewer pointed out that, despite making it to the final, the contestants left without winnings, apart from Jonathan, who kept his £1,000.
“Oh what a pity. None of them got it right, meaning that everyone leaves with absolutely nothing… apart from Jonathan, who keeps his £1k,” they wrote.
Another fan described the puzzle as particularly difficult, writing: “Never seen that many get to the 1 percentage question before, and all men and all wrong. Hard one, they couldn’t even tell what the thing behind the eight was meant to be.”

More episodes on the way
The 1% Club returned to television this week with four new episodes, airing from 9 December to 12 December.
The ITV game show is also set to return with a Christmas special later this month, once again hosted by fan favourite Lee Mack.
