Ian Wright Claims He Has ‘Proof’ Vinicius Junior Was Heading to Arsenal Before Real Madrid U-Turn

Arsenal’s failed pursuit of Vinicius Junior may have ended with the Brazilian committing his future to Real Madrid, but Ian Wright has now added a fresh twist to the transfer saga.

Speaking live on Sky Sports, the former Arsenal striker insisted that there was a stage during the summer when he believed Vinicius was genuinely on course to join the Gunners. Wright even claimed he had “proof” to back up his version of events — a claim that left fellow pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher far from convinced.

The revelation came during Sky Sports’ pre-match coverage of Arsenal’s Premier League opener against Coventry City on Friday, August 21.
