Luke Bryan is sharing a difficult update about his family after his 18-year-old son, Thomas “Bo” Boyer Bryan, suffered a broken collarbone during a high school football game.
On Monday, October 19, the country singer, 50, revealed on Instagram that Bo was heading into surgery. Luke posted a video from the car as he drove with his son and wife, Caroline, to the procedure.
“Well, it’s us. Going for surgery,” Luke said in the clip before turning the camera toward Bo, who was sitting beside him with his injured arm in a sling. Caroline was also in the backseat and asked her husband who he was talking to.

Caroline later shared a photo of Bo wearing a hospital gown as he prepared for surgery. Luke stood beside his wife and son in the hospital room, making a funny face for the camera.
“Not the best day for Bo, or our family, but he’ll be back!!!! Dang collarbone…and of course Luke can’t take a serious picture!” Caroline wrote alongside the photo.
Bo was injured on Friday, October 16, during a game between Battle Ground Academy and Pope John Paul II High School, according to The Tennessean. The young quarterback was tackled, and two players reportedly landed on him as he fell onto his right shoulder.

Medical staff and trainers placed his arm in a sling and wrapped his shoulder. Bo remained on the sidelines for the rest of the game.
Speaking to reporters afterward, Bo admitted that he initially thought the injury was minor.
“I thought it was just a stinger when I hit the ground,” he explained. “Once I got up I knew something was wrong. When I got to the sideline, I really knew something was wrong.”
The following day, Bo confirmed the injury in his Instagram Stories, revealing that he had broken his collarbone.
“Broke my collarbone last night,” he wrote. “Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. We will be back.”

Despite the setback, Bo has plenty to be proud of this season. He is Battle Ground Academy’s starting quarterback and has emerged as one of the top high school quarterbacks in the region. Before the injury, he had thrown for 2,006 yards, recorded 30 touchdowns and three interceptions.
His injury also leaves his team facing questions about how to move forward. Battle Ground Academy coach Bobby Bentley told The Tennessean that the coaching staff would need to assess the situation and find a way to adjust.
“I don’t know what we’re looking at yet,” Bentley said. “We’ll have to figure this thing out. That’s the challenge for us as a team and as coaches. What do we do? How do we do it? We’re going to figure it out.”

Luke and Caroline share two sons, Bo and Tatum “Tate” Christopher, who was born in 2010. The couple also helped raise Luke’s nephew, Til, and nieces, Jordan and Kris, following the deaths of Luke’s sister Kelly in 2007 and her husband, Ben Cheshire, seven years later.
For now, the family is focused on Bo’s surgery and recovery. Caroline’s message made it clear that the injury has been difficult for everyone, but she remains hopeful that her son will return to the football field.
