Riley Green may be known for his country music career and love of hunting, but he recently showed another side of himself by keeping a promise to a former contestant from The Voice Season 30.
Brandy Neelly, a 31-year-old aspiring country singer from Nashville, first connected with Green during her blind audition. She revealed that she had once baked a birthday cake for the singer when he turned 23, giving her an unexpected connection with the coach before she even joined his team.

Neelly impressed Green and Queen Latifah with her performance of Jo Dee Messina’s 1998 hit “Lesson In Leavin.” She also shared that baking was one of her interests outside music.
After praising her audition, Green made her an offer.
“If you pick me, I’ll make you a cake,” he promised.

Neelly accepted the offer and joined Team Riley. However, her journey on the competition did not last long. She became the first artist eliminated from Green’s team after losing a Battle against sisters Ferryn and Brinkley during the October 6 episode.
Although her time on the show ended early, Green did not forget what he had promised.
Neelly recently shared a video showing the cake she received from her former coach. The three-tier creation had a camouflage design inspired by Green’s hunting style, complete with pink frosting, small mallard ducks and a The Voice emblem.
The top of the cake also displayed the words “Team Riley” alongside a pink microphone.

Neelly shared additional close-up photos on her Instagram Story and thanked Green for following through.
“A promise is a promise, thank you, Riley,” she wrote.
However, fans should not assume that Green personally spent hours decorating the elaborate cake. The creation came from Nashville baker Mads Eatz, who is known for making detailed custom cakes.

Neelly also explained the singer’s role in the project in a TikTok comment, calling him “the creative director” of the cake.
While Green may not have been the person holding the frosting bag, he still made sure his former contestant received the special gift he had promised during her audition.
Meanwhile, The Voice Season 30 is moving toward its Final 13. The competition returns Monday, November 9, on NBC, with the Live Shows beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
