Harry And Meghan’s Secret UK Home Plans Revealed As Sussexes Prepare For Return But Their New Life Won’t Include Palace Duties

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are preparing for a major new chapter in Britain, with reports suggesting the couple have already secured a private UK residence ahead of their planned return later this month.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to spend an “extended period” in the UK, with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet reportedly set to attend school there.
However, the move will not represent a return to official royal duties.
Instead, Harry and Meghan are expected to establish a private family base away from royal residences, continuing life as non-working members of the Royal Family while keeping the details of their new home closely guarded.
A Hidden Home Away From Royal Life

The exact location of the Sussexes’ new UK property has not been revealed, with privacy and security reportedly among the biggest reasons for keeping the address confidential.
The couple are expected to maintain their existing overseas homes, including their £11 million Montecito mansion in California and their property in Portugal.
Their decision to create a new base in Britain comes more than six years after they stepped away from royal duties and moved across the Atlantic in search of a more independent life.
The return marks another unexpected chapter in their relationship with the UK, after years of living away from the centre of royal life.
Their Previous Royal Home: Frogmore Cottage

Before leaving Britain, Harry and Meghan lived at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor — a property that became closely linked with their early married life.
The Grade-II listed home was gifted to the couple by the late Queen Elizabeth II as a wedding present and underwent a major renovation costing around £2.4 million.
The refurbishment included structural repairs, upgraded electrical systems, new gas and water supplies, and approximately £50,000 worth of soundproofing.
The couple also worked with Soho House designer Vicky Charles, who helped create the interior design, including the use of vegan paint.
The original two semi-detached properties were transformed into one larger family home.
Despite the extensive renovation work, Harry and Meghan spent less than a year living at Frogmore Cottage before moving to the United States.
Harry later repaid the renovation costs, and King Charles requested that the couple vacate the property in 2023 following the release of Harry’s memoir Spare.
From Nottingham Cottage To California

Before Frogmore Cottage, Meghan’s first UK home with Harry was Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.
After finishing her role on Suits, Meghan moved into the two-bedroom residence during her engagement to Harry in 2017.
Although the name Kensington Palace suggested grandeur, Meghan later explained that the home was much more modest than many people imagined.
In the Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan, she described the property as having a small kitchen, dining area and living space, while Harry joked about the low ceilings and unusual layout.
What The Move Could Mean For The Sussexes

Harry and Meghan’s reported return has already raised questions about whether their relationship with the Royal Family could change.
While King Charles is said to welcome more opportunities to spend time with his son and grandchildren, there has been no indication that the Sussexes will resume their roles as working royals.
Instead, the move appears focused on family, education and maintaining a stronger connection with Britain.
For now, one major mystery remains: where exactly will Harry and Meghan establish their new UK home, and how will this next chapter affect their future relationship with the Royal Family?
