Prince Harry is reportedly eager to spend more time in the UK as fresh claims suggest he and Meghan Markle may be heading in increasingly different directions.
Royal biographer Andrew Lownie has claimed that the Duke of Sussex is looking to “break free” and reconnect more closely with his British roots, even as speculation continues over tensions within his marriage. Harry and Meghan recently returned to the UK with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet for a private reunion with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House, and Harry is expected to return again in September.
Speaking to News24, Lownie claimed that the couple are “not getting on as well as they used to,” suggesting that Harry’s priorities have changed. According to the biographer, Meghan remains focused on building their commercial success, while Harry is increasingly interested in creating a lasting legacy and reconnecting with his inheritance.
“He wants to go back to his inheritance,” Lownie claimed.
The comments come as separate reports have suggested Meghan is unhappy with Harry’s desire to repair his relationship with Prince William. An unnamed source previously claimed that the Duchess “can’t stomach” the idea of Harry taking all the blame for the brothers’ long-running feud.
According to that report, Meghan believes any reconciliation should involve both brothers acknowledging their mistakes, rather than Harry simply apologising and attempting to restore the relationship on his own.

Harry, meanwhile, has reportedly been motivated by a desire to rebuild family connections. His recent UK visit saw him reunite with his father and bring Archie and Lilibet together with their grandfather for the first time since 2022.
The Duke has also continued to maintain links with British causes, including an appearance in a new video for Scotty’s Little Soldiers, ahead of his expected return to the UK next month.
For now, neither Harry nor Meghan has publicly confirmed the claims about tensions in their marriage or disagreements over Harry’s relationship with his family. But with another UK visit reportedly approaching, attention is once again turning to whether Harry’s growing focus on Britain could mark a new chapter for the Sussexes.
