VOZINHA has signed for a new club after becoming a World Cup star with Cape Verde.

The veteran goalkeeper became a fan favourite after his stunning performances at the tournament.

Vozinha, 40, was remarkably without a club during the World Cup after leaving Portuguese second division side Chaves.

He made a huge contribution as the West African nation impressed and made it to the last-32.

This included a man-of-the-match display in the goalless draw against eventual champions Spain.

Vozinha has now been rewarded for his displays and landed himself a new team.

The goalkeeper has signed a free transfer deal with Chilean giants Colo-Colo.

The club teased his arrival on social media with a picture of the top of his head.

The post was captioned: “Vozinha we wait for you at the Monumental Stadium.”

The move has been celebrated in the comment section wth England‘s Jude Bellingham leading the praise.

He posted: “The best.”

Vozinha has the eyes of the world on him now after becoming one of the stars of the World Cup.

His fan base grew significantly, and he now boasts 29.4million Instagram followers.

The shot-stopper made four appearances at the 2026 World Cup, making 4.50 saves per game with two clean sheets.

Vozinha also impressed in Cape Verde‘s last game against Argentina, in which he pulled off some memorable saves to deny Lionel Messi.

However, his heroics were not enough as the finalists were able to scrape by with a 3-2 win after extra time.

Vozinha will have some recognisable team-mates when he links up with Colo-Colo.

This includes former Barcelona and Juventus star Arturo Vidal who made the move to his boyhood club in 2024.
