“You’ll Never Know” was written by Harry Warren and Mack Gordon and published in 1943. The song was introduced by Alice Faye in the 20th Century Fox musical Hello, Frisco, Hello.
The song went on to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song, cementing its place among the best-known standards of its era.
Since then, “You’ll Never Know” has been recorded by numerous artists, including Al Martino, whose version is the one Rowland and Jones perform on The Voice UK.

Another praised Jones by simply saying, “that man still has it,” while a third fan wanted the pair to take the collaboration further, writing that they should record a full version in the studio.
