‘It’s NOT right’ – Roy Keane fumes at controversial moment in France vs Morocco World Cup clash
ROY KEANE slammed the World Cup refereeing team who delayed Kylian Mbappe’s penalty for more than three minutes.
The flying France forward was forced to wait a whopping 192 seconds while officials made their checks and asked him to re-spot the ball multiple times – and then saw his effort saved.

3And that is despite the fact the Noussair Mazraoui foul that led to the spot-kick was an absolute stone-waller.
It mattered little in the end as France ran out comfortable 2-0 winners over Morocco, with Mbappe netting a sumptuous first to help tee up a semi-final in Dallas.
But Keane still let rip at the team of Argentinian officials with the score goalless at half-time.
He said on ITV: “Listen it is unfair.
“Over three minutes… I know these are world-class players but it is unfair because it is a pressure situation.
“Why does he have to wait three minutes? Time is the enemy for a striker when you’re waiting.
“You’re giving the advantage back to the goalkeeper and the team who’ve conceded the penalty, so it’s not right.”
Fuming fans flocked to social media to claim the delay was “rigged“.
3Eyebrows were raised leading up to the game when Fifa appointed a group made up entirely of officials from Argentina – the team France lost to in the final four years ago, and could face in this year’s New Jersey showpiece.
Mbappe’s penalty delay didn’t sit right with Keane’s ITV colleague, Ian Wright, either.
The Arsenal legend said: “It probably does put you off. The longer you have to wait for a penalty the more you doubt what you’re going to do.
“This stuttering penalty technique, the goalkeepers seem to have a march on it now.”
