KATIE Price’s husband Lee Andrews has said “divorce is for the best” in an explosive voicenote recorded in a notorious Dubai jail.

It came as glamour model Katie, 48, joined Susanna Reid and Ed Balls in the Good Morning Britain studio to explain why she has decided to end their nine-month marriage.

Lee’s message, which was played on the show, saw him deny he had lied to Katie about his £37m crypto fortune after she discovered his account contained just £2.

Conman Lee, who is currently locked up in Al Awir prison for an alleged civil matter, accused wife Katie of selling him out but insisted he’d always love her.

He said: “No doubt this will be played live, which is not what I really want but I have never thrown Katie under the bus.

“I do feel that that happened to me and it looks like there’s profit to be made on her side and obviously it’s something that happened recently while I’ve been doing civil jail – I’ve not been convicted of any crimes nor am I a criminal.”

Katie decided enough was enough after being confronted by the reality of Lee’s dwindling finances — but he has defended his wealth.

He maintains the numbers are correct and said Katie was looking in the wrong account, telling GMB she isn’t tech-savvy.

Lee said: “So there’s been no wool pulled over anyone’s eyes and that should be between husband and wife.”

He added: “I think divorce is probably for the best, she has her points of view and yes we were in love I do believe. I am due out of jail very soon. Unfortunately there’s a war going on and things are delayed, you can’t get into civil cases you’re detained for.”

Lee claimed their relationship had been “bulletproof” and said: “I’ll never stop loving Kate, she was a big part of my life.”

The serial liar even offered to pay hosts Ed Balls and Susanna Reid to prove his wealth.

“So just to reiterate, I do have the funds in the wallet, she can have my wallet address and I can do any movement in there,” he said. “I’ll even send the hosts £1,000 or £10,000 or whatever they want to show the people that it’s mine.

“I’ve got no issues on that and I earned this consistently through trading and having money in the game.

“I’ve been in the UAE twenty years and obviously earned quite a good sum of money and built relationships. Anyway, I will be out and you can keep checking the wallet and you’ll see that there is the funds and it’s just 50 million USDT and now the country knows.”

Lee signed off by claiming he would be in the UK soon and offered to take a lie detector test.

Listening in the studio, Katie said she had had enough of being lied to by self-proclaimed businessman and insisted her decision had nothing to do with how much (or little) money he had.

She told the hosts: “First of all, for me, as everyone knows, I’ve never been with a man with money. With me, it’s never about going with a man with money. I’m self made and I have my own money. And with Lee it’s never been about money… but I feel he has scammed me because he fabricated a person that doesn’t exist.”

She added: “I love him, but who is he? I love the man I met, but I just can’t take it. I’m not stupid, you know. Well, obviously I was stupid to fall for him. Now it’s really sad.”

Katie also confessed she believes her ex loves her too, saying: “I do believe he did. I think he’s got himself in such a situation… where he copy and pastes what he says to women… I do believe he’s fallen for me.”

The Sun revealed that Katie ended the marriage via WhatsApp earlier this month.

On Monday, Katie wiped all traces of Lee from her Instagram bio as she prepares for a “messy” divorce battle.

Katie previously shouted from the rooftops about her husband, tagging Lee in her Instagram bio with a wedding ring emoji.

But, as she gears up to take on her jailed ex, Katie has decided now is the time to scrub him from the top of her page.

The mum-of-five has still kept loved-up snaps of the pair on her grid with the most recent one being uploaded on July 2 after Lee claimed he was “kidnapped” and we later told how he was actually jailed in Dubai.

Katie is understood to be “naturally worried” that Lee will come after her money in what could be one of showbiz’s messiest divorces.

A source said: “Katie is determined not to be in financial trouble again.

“She’s been working really hard to get enough income to be comfortable – with her OnlyFans and various other projects, but she is all to aware of how easily it can be lost.

“There is a real worry Lee is going to try and take half of what she’s worth.”

They added: “She does not want to be his next con, and is hoping they can split amicably.”

Following the end of her romance with the Dubai-based businessman, Katie went under the knife for another boob job just hours before walking the red carpet at the NTAs.

The reality TV star now has her biggest-ever boobs after heading to Brussels for corrective surgery and upping the size to a staggering 2,500cc.

An insider said: “In the same way some people get a haircut when they split from someone, Katie will often go under the knife.

“It’s her way of showing she is ready to move on and have a fresh start.

“She might have just had surgery but Katie didn’t want to miss such a big night, so put on a really brave face.”
