The princess seemed to have eyes only for Prince William, who looked dapper in a navy suit.
After arriving amid a strict security blackout, they were greeted by David and Jill Hines, the directors of The Commons
According to Northern Ireland protocol, royal visits are shrouded in secrecy until after they take place for security reasons.
William and Catherine will spend the afternoon meeting organisations and young people working to help those at risk of homelessness have more stable lives by creating employment opportunities.
Their visit is in support of an innovative pilot scheme launched in Belfast by Homewards – William’s initiative to eradicate homelessness in key areas of the UK – as an example of how the issue can be tackled when organisations and agencies work together.
The new pilot has supported young people into work and helped them build confidence and sustain their new roles.
Its success has led to the approach being scaled across four other Homewards locations and commitments from major national UK companies.
The couple will also learn about the vital role that employers, public services and community organisations play in creating the conditions for people to thrive.

This forms part of the five-year Homewards programme, which aims to demonstrate that homelessness can be made rare, brief and unrepeated.
The Waleses, both 44, have undertaken a series of public engagements together in recent days.
These included the charity premiere of Digger with Tom Cruise and surprising Sir Kevin Sinfield at his recent fundraising endeavour to raise money for motor neurone disease research and support.
Asked about his reunion with the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Hollywood star fawned over ‘intelligent and funny’ Kate, who he said was wearing a ‘stunning dress’.
Tom even cheekily added that Prince William had made a ‘smart choice’ in marrying Kate, as he addressed the future king, saying: ‘Will, way to go!’
Speaking about William and Kate, Tom said: ‘They are amazing people. How dedicated they are to their country and what they give to the world. They’re just beautiful people – and fun!’
He then moved on to only talking about Kate, saying: ‘She’s very funny. She’s got a great sense of humour. Obviously very intelligent and fun.’
‘And her dress, of course both of them, they’re so charismatic. So elegant, that dress that she was wearing – it was stunning.
‘William did well. Will, way to go. Smart choice. I’ve got to give it to William, smart choice.’
