If you skipped Night 5 of Auditions for Season 21 of America’s Got Talent, you missed one of the best surprises of the season so far.
Vahtang, a happy-go-lucky man from Georgia (the country, not the American state) took to the stage full of energy and excitement, eager to show off his Act for the Judges. Coming from a country of only 4 million people, this was a huge opportunity for Vahtang, who kept the nature of his talent a surprise.
Once he got going, though, he really went for it. Launching into a cover of Ram Jam’s “Black Betty,” Vahtang showed off impressive vocal skills, not just singing but growling his way through, then beatboxing along.

“Oh no you didn’t!” yelled Judge Mel B. “You are a one-man party! I loved it,” agreed Judge Howie Mandel. Judge Sofía Vergara noted that AGT had seen beatboxer Acts before but they were “never this good.” Judge Simon Cowell grinned ear to ear and said, “I’m so happy! It was a surprise in a very good way.”
Vahtang’s beatboxing floors the Judges on AGT
Vahtang earned four Yes votes and went backstage overjoyed. There, he tried to teach Host Terry Crews to beatbox, and while Crews didn’t pick it up immediately, we definitely saw potential.
On TikTok, Vahtang has more than half a million followers, and over 400,000 on Instagram; now that he’s breaking through stateside, the sky’s the limit for this unique artist!
Vahtang’s original performance encapsulates what AGT Judge alum Heidi Klum said about the show back in 2022.
“Nothing gets redundant, and nothing gets the same,” she told Access Hollywood. “Every day is new and different. I mean, yes, we [the Judges and Host] might be the same, but you see all these crazy, different people on the stage. We’re having the best time. I always call it a ‘rollercoaster of emotions,’ because a person comes and they’re singing. The next is an aerialist. The next one is a contortionist or a comedian. Everyone has a story to tell because they’re real people. They’re not actors. This is not a movie. This is real life. It’s always fun to hear the stories…it never gets boring.”
