The 1% Club’s “Easiest-Ever” Question Has Viewers Confident They Know the Answer – Can You Solve It?
A question from The 1% Club has sparked an unusual reaction among viewers, with many claiming they spotted the answer almost instantly. While the ITVX quiz is famous for its brain-teasing challenges, this particular puzzle left some people wondering whether it could be the easiest final question the show has ever featured.
A video shared on TikTok brought the challenge back into the spotlight, prompting viewers to test their own logic and compare answers.
Can You Work Out What V and C Represent?

During the episode, host and comedian Lee Mack presented contestants with the following sequence:
VCCCVVCCCVCCCCCVCCCCCVCCCCCC
He then asked: “In the following sequence, what do letters V and C stand for?”
Four contestants were shown attempting the question. Two managed to identify the correct answer, while the other two were unable to work it out.
Alan admitted that he had no idea, while Rachel also struggled, explaining that she had not written anything down.
Joe and Stephen, however, were more successful. Both recognised that the letters represented the 26 vowels and consonants in the alphabet.
Although the pair appeared nervous as they waited for Lee to confirm their answers, their expressions quickly changed when they discovered they were right. They celebrated the moment with a relieved smile and a round of applause for each other.
Viewers Were Divided Over the Puzzle

The question prompted plenty of reactions online, particularly from viewers who felt the solution was obvious from the start.
One TikTok user claimed their seven-year-old child had answered immediately, while they themselves needed considerably longer to figure it out.
Others admitted they had initially taken a completely different approach. One viewer confidently suggested the sequence might represent binary code, while another jokingly interpreted it as a series of copy-and-paste keyboard shortcuts.
Several people said they had recognised the alphabet connection straight away but then spent the remaining time doubting themselves because they could not believe a 1% question could be so straightforward.
One commenter wrote that they had answered correctly almost immediately and that it was one of only two episodes in which they had managed to solve every question.

Another shared a similar experience, saying they had identified the pattern but spent the remaining 28 seconds second-guessing their answer.
Not everyone was focused on the puzzle itself, though. One viewer raised a question about how contestants could be sure they were not copying one another’s answers.
Despite the mixed reactions, the challenge demonstrated how even a seemingly simple sequence can make people overthink a question when the pressure is on.
So, did you recognise what the V and C stood for at first glance, or would you have needed the full countdown to work it out?
